Tasmania

This island is located off the Eastern South coast of Australia and it is the southernmost wine region of the country. The climate is cool and for a longtime vines were only planted in the vicinity of Hobart, but in the meantime, the growing regions have expanded. Both white and red wines are cultivated and the most important grape varieties are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot and Shiraz. Many grapes are brought to the pressing in Australia.
